Use Your Body
Find the movement that actually fits.
Nutrition is #1, but movement is a close #2 for better health. Walking, running, weights, yoga, martial arts, swimming — or whatever moves you best.
Principles
Hold these even when the day is messy.
- Walk daily. Strength twice a week. Mobility in the gaps.
- Prefer outdoor light in the first hour of the day.
- Train the nervous system with hard-then-easy, not all-out always.
- Sitting is a dose. Interrupt it.
Evening prompts
Three questions if you only have a minute.
- When did I last break a light sweat?
- Did I go outside today?
- Which joint felt stiff — and did I move it?
Practices for today
Twenty-minute walk
20 minEasy conversational pace. After a meal is ideal — it blunts the glucose rise and clears the head.
Push, pull, squat
25 minThree movement patterns, two sets each. Bodyweight is enough. Strength is the cheapest longevity intervention.
Morning outdoor light
10 minStand or walk outside within an hour of waking. Daylight sets the clock that later lets you sleep.
Hourly stand
2 minEvery hour, stand, roll the shoulders, and take ten slow breaths. Circulation is a habit, not a class.
